Grain Goddess

This 10,000 year old clay goddess was found in a grain bin at the oldest known human settlement of Catal Huyuk in Turkey.
She has a powerful pregnant body, and that may be a baby’s head appearing between her legs.. She sits on a throne with leopard arm rests., drawing powerful, ferocious cat energy for the birthing process. And the presence of the cat attests to the presence of the Goddess as well.
Can you imagine your hands resting on two panthers, and the incredible feline charge flowing through you? No wonder! The cat is a sacred animal of the Goddess.

This Neolithic Goddess is found throughout many parts of the world. She’s charming and joyful, but why are her arms looped in such an unusual way, you must be wondering?

This Goddess resembles the shape of the uterus and fallopian tubes! Our hunter-gatherer ancestors were in awe of the ability of the female to create new life from her own body. And they were very familiar with anatomy, as they were constantly cutting up animals for food. So. this shape is a testament to the sacred power of the feminine, as well as the joy of creation itself!

The Sleeping Goddess

This voluptuous goddess comes from the ancient civilization of  Malta, which some believe goes back to over 10,000 BC. Her strongest feature is her voluminous hips and thighs, which speak of abundance, gestation, birth. In addition she is sleeping. Putting the two aspects together, it appears that she is a goddess of dream-healing, which was practiced in many early civilization through dream temples.. At ancient Pergamon (Greek city in modern Turkey) there is a dream temple complete with a dream room, where supplicants spent the night with dream priests. Then they “birthed” down a long corridor  lined with portals from which priests sent messages or healing scents to the dreamer. When the dreamer exited from the tunnel, he was “re-born.”

Have you had healing dreams? I would love to hear about them.
