What is Reiki?
In addition to Energetic Healing, I also practice Reiki on my clients.
Reiki is an ancient Tibetan form of healing with the hands. It was lost over the centuries, but rediscovered in the 1922 by a Japanese man named Mikao Usui. According to this teaching, there is a universal spiritual life force energy all around us that heals and is available to everyone. It is a holistic therapy that brings healing to the physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual body. The energy goes where it is most needed; it is intelligent energy, and therefore needs no diagnosis to be effective.
The hands have energy centers called chakras. The Reiki practitioner channels energy into his/her hands and sends it into the client. The hands are placed on different parts of the body. They can also be placed above the body, if the client prefers. The body of the client then directs the energy wherever it is most needed. Thus the client is a participant in the healing. The client may feel a warm tingling sensation as the practitioner works. The treatment may involve the whole body or be localized to address a particular problem. The more open and receptive the client is, the more effective the treatment is.
Reiki relaxes the body so healing can take place; it is a great way to alleviate stress. But there are also many other conditions it can help; blood pressure, addiction, balance of body and soul, and fatigue are just a few.
