Well the Spring Equinox has come and gone and the New World that is about to be born nine months from now on Dec. 21, 2012, the Age of Aquarius, has been seeded and is growing
What will the New World look like? Well no one knows for sure. But what is pretty sure is that each one of us and all of us together have a say in what we are co-creating with the universe. What we do as individuals and as a group has enormous consequences on the world. Our thought-forms, our emotions, our intentions all effect the blue prints of what is being created. Look at the weather; a perfect reflection of the battles going on inside ourselves and among humans. That’s why all the individual work we do on bettering ourselves and the world are so terribly important.
Our intentions and our dreams are what propel the future.
So, having dumped that ponderous thought form on the table, let’s fast forward to May Day or Beltane as the Celts called this exciting time. A time of flowers and birdsong and reawakening of life. In more recent times this has been celebrated by the May pole dance, a symbol of the sacred masculine (the pole) wrapped in colorful ribbons(the sacred feminine) and the joy and harmony of the two in balance. The celts saw it as a time of joyful and even lustful celebration, a time of fecundity, re-birth, and even changing of partners for a night.; a time to bless the crops and the animals so they might be healthy and fruitful.
The Egyptians expressed this impulse in the story of Osiris, the lord of the Underworld who comes back to life in the spring and is green in color. Later he morphed into the Green Man, the lord of nature; in these more materialist times he’s co-opted by the Jolly Green Giant, symbol of the corporate culture. The Green Man’s counterpart is Flora, or Springtime, as in the famous Renaissance painting by Botticelli.
And that brings us to our part in all this. What does the sacred masculine and feminine mean for us, in these times where so little is sacred? Well, that’s just the problem. When nothing is sacred, things lose their meaning, and we feel adrift in chaos. Sound familiar?
But small things can be very powerful. One way we can begin to bring change for ourselves and the world we live in is by paying attention to our words, how we speak. How often do you hear words like SACRED, HONOR, TRUST, and JOY. Just hearing those worlds creates a refreshing space. Words have power. The ancients knew it, and we need to remember it. The words we use create the world we surround ourselves with. So lets begin by using the worlds that express who we truly are and intend to be. Use them in your thoughts and in your expressions with others, and see how you create what you desire and intend. Be a creator! Watch your world change!
BLESSINGS! JOY! LOVE! Ahhhh !
