I was riding the subway the other day with the same hang-dog bored look on my face as
every other poor soul stuffed into that jiggling sardine can.
I looked around at all the interesting faces. I saw a young man give his seat up to an
elderly black woman, and it made me crack my mask and smile. I smiled at him and her,
and everyone around me. It felt so good!
Then a young Asian woman came in with the cutest baby strapped to her chest. I smiled
again. And I thought, “ this is my gift to all of you; my smile! It makes me happy!
Brightens up my day! I hope it brightens up yours! Wow! Would it be great if everyone
on this train smiled at everyone else? What a New World that would be!!!”
Heaven on earth in one split second!
